The remaster for this sounds excellent.

Oh and ye, this is better than a 3.5

Indeed. This is probably my least favourite of the last 4 ISIS albums though.

The sound the band was going for on this one REALLY grew on me. It's a lot more raw than Oceanic.

That's arguable since they're both pretty raw records, but that's certainly the case in comparison to the last two.

You think? I didn't find Oceanic to be all that raw honestly. That's why this one kinda took me by surprise on the first listen, the vocals being so low in the mix and all that.

I think the vocals and the guitar tone are pretty raw on Oceanic, but it's got a clearer mix (the bass is clear as well). Panopticon's mix is what makes it so heavy, but the bass is almost non-existent on the later.

If listened to on the right speakers you can hear the bass. It's pretty clear in the speakers in my car.

Do you have any recs for decent PC speakers? I just got a new PC a couple of weeks ago, and I'm only using stock DELL speakers atm.

Couldn't tell ya man haha I use my little shitty laptop speakers all the time. Everything sound mostly good on tree but the bass does get drowned out if it's not emphasized in the mix itself.

That's one of the tops here for sure. Also, Caxide treats his bass like another guitar at points in this record, which is why sometimes it seems the bass is absent.

I love bass players that do that. Also I used to think that Altered Course was boring because of how repetitive and drawn out it is, but listened to with good head phones, man there's so much ambiance and other shit going on.

Interestingly enough, Altered Course is the one track keeping me from 5'ing this. Which is odd because I LOVE instrumental metal. Something about it doesn't click with me.

Dude the bass is like the best part of this album. I use shitty ass headphones and they come through loud and clear
