Considering Kanye's personality shift started right after his mom died, I'm not surprised something like this has happened. It really seems like Yeezy can't get over her death for some reason. Hopefully him doing this album cover shtick will help him heal, as he said on twitter, but we'll have to wait and see.

he's definitely been at a loss in regards to how to memorialize her - look at how much of a joke that videogame ended up being. i don't have a ton of sympathy for west in general, but that must have sucked to go through

I'm not saying his mom dying was trivial. I'm saying his level of grief and what it has done to his personality is not normal. It definitely suggests an inability to cope, not to mention it has been over a decade since it happened. This wasn't just him being depressed and shit, this was his constant mental breakdowns, rants, controversies. All of this stemming from that issue.



It must've been traumatic to go through, that I can't imagine and that is most likely why he continues to suffer some issues in the aftermath. In comparison to most people who grieve, he still seems to be having some trouble coping.
