CRJ obviously delves into 80s pop reverence and homage but what would we say she actually resembles? ...cyndi lauper? Sort of reminds me of Todd haynes’ FAR FROM HEAVEN re 50s melodrama; the stylization maybe depends more on received ideas about what “80s music was” than on the strategies of a particular artist so that it’s hard to point fingers
Or maybe there are artists she wholly resembles and I’m ignorant
