Where's the feeling gone?
Will I remember the songs...?
The show must go on
It just means so much more to so much more
People, when you rapping and you know what for
Kendrick is probably the best new rapper so he's not a good example but he's still an example. It's interscope records... Bit h don't kill my vibe is a serious theme now? Lmfao

I said two of the three covered serious themes. I figured it was obvious that bitch don't kill my vibe was the outcast.

"swimming pools got popular as fuck. do you think its because of the message of the song, or the way
the song sounds aurally?"
This is exactly the reason why Kendrick is really great. The fact that he can make a song with lots of
mainstream appeal while lyrically the message he is portraying actually has a decent amount of meaning
to it. That's not to say all of his songs are deep; their not. But that's a good thing imo. I still
like to hear him just have fun with a mic.

The first part is well put, but I disagree that him not being as deep as he can be is a good thing. Yeah it makes his music more appealing to more people but also more shallow, and when you think about it the rapper has a bigger influence on kids these days than the preacher, teacher, parents, siblings combined. it'd be cool if rappers would continue the tradition of educating them with real shit instead of half selling out. difference between doing a job and doing Work.
implying a good flow, voice and production aren't more important than lyrics
No, just implying that a good flow, voice and production will never leave a lasting impact on a listener's psychology than do lyrics.
Also,
Did you know that Ronald Reagan was a DJ ?
and Napoleon in Egypt wrote Graffitti?

it's not like he speaks out against drinking THAT much in the song, hes like 'yeah I did it to be popular and ended up gettin a SWIMMINGPOOL of bitches - but yall shouldn't do that shit, peer pressure yo!'
he knew all anyone would hear in bars and clubs was the chorus, anyway
