Lol. For years I've been covering that song with bands and had to improvise a slidey version of the solo cos I didn't have a whammy pedal. Now I have a whammy function on that peddle and it's kinda nice to be able to recreate the solo perfectly, but I miss my punky sloppy version of it.

That album cover perfectly sums up what it feels like to do planking on the ground.

Sometimes I listen to Killing in the Name Of and I want to rebel against my government, then I remember im a white middle class privileged slightly obese man.
But fuck them I wont do what they tell me.

SHACKLE THEIR MINDS WHEN THEY'RE BENT ON THE CROSS
WHEN IGNORANCE REIGNS LIFE IS LOST
but seriously is there a more relevant lyric for today's political climate in the US?

When I was like 16 I worked at a restaurant with this 50-ish toothless redneck line cook who got super into whatever was being played on the local rock station. One night the radio-friendly version of Killing in the Name was playing and he was trying to sing along to the chorus, but he kept saying "you never do what they tell you!" in super guttural tone. He accidentally turned it into a pro-authoritarianism anthem and it was fucking hilarious.
