Where MCR teaches children unworthy of living to kill themselves, Trent Reznor teaches children to take out their anger by engaging in anonymous sex

The muffled screaming in the t/t sounds like a basement party gone wrong while Trent is eavesdropping from behind a closed door

Way too long/late to appreciate this but OMG do I love the turnover into Closer. People throw around the word sexy and epic too much but iirc that was sooo smooth.

This record is basically a wage-free therapist. Despite it's blunt, ill-natured vulgarity it really forces you to look around. And i LOVE so many unconventional creative choices in-here starting from samples of a man hitting punching bag, which then smoothly transitions into drum-machine punches instead of the real ones, sounds of the protaginist sniffing cocaine through a straw as he continues to fall apart or that ICONIC drum heartbeat on Closer. 10 marching pigs out of 10.
