I still think that MTV here in Argentina got everything wrong.
They played staind to death: Nobody knows about the band in my country, and if it does, it was because they sit on the tv 24/7 watching the channel back in the day just like me.
Kid Rock: They played american badass all day long. Since then, the dude never appeared again on the channel.
Crazy town: They played butterfly to DEATH. I think nobody knows about this band in my country. They'd probably never come to our country either
P.O.D.: They only played sleeping awake and that was it.
While deftones was NEVER played in my country and in my case I have to discover it on my own. I used to confuse them with mudvayne.

I dunno, this is about as perfect as an album can get. The haunting atmosphere is intense.

Honestly I think this and Saturday Night Wrist have the best atmospheres out of all their other albums.

Best atmospheres:
White Pony
Self titled
SNW
koi no yokan
The others aren’t necessarily atmospheric in my mind. Doesn’t mean they aren’t amazing albums though.

Yes their self titled and Koi No Yokan also have great atmospheres too.

I love the dark, hopeless, heavy, traumatic atmosphere on s/t.

Whenever I listen to the s/t, it always takes my mind back to 2003, which were better days. I guess it makes sense since that's when the album was released.
But still, it's awesome it can have that effect whenever I listen to it.

It takes me back to my coke days lol. I was a pretty bad coke addict for about a year and a half, and this came out in those last few months. The atmosphere and intentions of this album fell like I did. It really felt like this album was made for me and having that relatable material really helped. It was a dark fucking time.
And then I met my wife a few months later, and was able to quit. Quitting would not have happened if I didn’t meet her, I was pretty hopeless.
