“good album but I can feel a dropoff coming”
Yeah I kind of sense this as well, but one of their guitarists on IG has been posting some pretty tasty riffs lately so I wouldn’t write them off yet.
Also if their next album is anything like the bonus tracks off this, I’ll actually be pretty happy

This band could make a 1.5/5 album and it would still probably have good riffs to be fair. Keaton and Trey can’t not write good riffs. That’s not what we should worry about

I fully expect their next album to be their worst. That does not mean it won’t be great though. I just think this sound is saturated despite them being head and shoulders above their peers

"Keaton and Trey can’t not write good riffs."
Yeah the dudes are insanely talented. I'm still trying to properly learn a few riffs from a couple of their songs and I'm honestly struggling with those more than most solos I've tried to learn

This record is awesome, IA feel like one of the only ones who are trying to evolve this sound to where its paying off.

Thall riff the new butt rock riff

that's going too far but unless your name is vildhjarta it comes across as a cheap knock off. these guys just need to go back to making more everchanger/stillworld progcore and not whatever that was. nice to hear blast beats in this genre tho

Is Trey not in the band anymore?

He stopped being in the band when he joined ffak iirc, he’s just involved in songwriting. Or was. Don’t know if that’s true for the new stuff.
Oddly I love that Keaton is leaning into Vildhjarta worship, he seems good at it without being boring or repetitive, while at the same time giving you memorable things to latch onto. Vildhjarta is definitely a mood band for me but IA walks the line well. I’d much rather them do that than lean octanecore/spiritbox style like Heavener had an inclination to do. But I do wish they went back to more of their older style. Not as many bands are doing it and doing it well anymore
