Music reliant on copious levels of substance abuse to enjoy, simply isn’t very good, I could listen to any old rubbish in that situation and hear things I couldn’t otherwise hear, doesn’t make it genius.

Why so negative? I basically do not get the antagonistic attitude that's so prevalent in this thread. You're one step away from being an offended conservative mother.

Also it's pasta.

I guessed it was pasta, just pointing out that it’s bizarre and some people clearly buy into that enlightened ‘woke genius’ crap when they’ve indulged in such things, I imagine some Tool fans would be especially culpable.

I indulge in that but only when I listen to Merzbow

this'll definitely even out at a 3.5 for me

Music, art, creativity and drugs are highly connected. Some music is more earthy, other has some spiritual appeal to it (genious or not genious)...the dude didn t say its not good without inducing drugs. I find Tool to be a different metal band cause it has that entrancing appeal to it. In fact trance fans often enjoy Tool for that reason. Fun fact I posted some pages back, is that the album was played on Burning Man this year. Do whatever to your rate Demon...you just seem to take several aspects outside the music itself to consideration and often negatively.

Not true. Drugs are the only reason I can think of for The Doors having a career.

Not even gonna start on the pop vs. Tool front, it's been hysterical to see some people treat this as an unironic showdown

@Johnny: that’s ok, I wasn’t asking you, we need Art’s enlightened stance on the subject... only then will accept it.

@Demon what lol, meant that more as a follow up to Sint's comment and with a view more to Twitter warfare than this site tbh

I would rate this a 1 to offset all the tool fanboys making accounts to bloat the rating but I just don’t care enough. This is such an obvious retreading and rehashing of their previous works.
