Walk it Back is kinda weird but I like how unconventional the song structure is, and was even better live which made me further appreciate it.

Walk it Back is the best experimental moment on SWB

this album sucks man. i've tried so many times but it's so underwhelming save for a few truly great tracks.
honestly, nowadays my national takes are: boxer >>>>>>> trouble will find me >>> high violet > alligator > who cares

Closer is the best more out there moment methinks. I prob overrate "Empire Line" and "Born to Beg" a tiny bit but aside from "Turtleneck" this is straight fire and the last 4 tracks are perfect and really clinch it as a 5.

The last truly great National album. Might even be my second favorite behind only HV.

I remember being so surprised this was good on release. Didn’t think they could pull it off that far into their career. Sadly my intuition was only one album cycle off!

I always felt that way about the song too, onion.
I think it's the subdued, muttered vocals.
