spirit: hype can certainly ruin many things. i was fortunate enough to hear this album around the time of release, back when it had no real discussion going on. it certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel, but i think what it does it does better than most pop albums this decade. it's just straightforward catchy as hell pop.

competes with 1989 (and probably wins, honestly) as the most enjoyable pop album of the decade for me.

part of me thinks (maybe) that's what makes this album a true banger - everyone's got different favorites. there aren't any super-clear "stand out" tracks, simply because they're all great.
Boy Problems is really damn good. Might've made a mistake by not putting that A+ tier.
And yeah Favourite Colour is probably my true #1, though I go back and forth between that and Let's Get Lost. (And occasionally Gimme Love.)

many people rep RAWM as the clear standout

Yeah RAWM is the clear standout here and it’s not even close. Can’t say I don’t believe that on some level the greatness of that song caused people to overestimate the rest of this (and now most of Dedicated too).

y'all massively overrate it because it's the first song on the album, and therefore the first time you realise she'd actually a become a good artist/this is gonna be a good pop album. it accomplishes that as an opener but it's not notably better than the rest of the album, like, at all

tect had it right with RAWM and Really Like You on the same tier tbh
