Fuck it. This album’s perfect. I still don’t like Spoonman or Like Suicide that much but I gave Kickstand a proper listen and it’s actually really good, even if I feel like it doesn’t quite belong on the album. I probably like it even more than My Wave and Fresh Tendrils. Every track adds to the sound of the album and I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Track ratings:
Let Me Drown - 9/10
My Wave - 7/10
Fell on Black Days - 9/10
Mailman - 9/10
Superunknown - 10/10
Head Down - 9/10
Black Hole Sun - 8/10
Spoonman - 6/10
Limo Wreck - 10/10
The Day I Tried to Live - 10/10
Kickstand - 7/10
Fresh Tendrils - 7/10
4th of July - 10/10
Like Suicide - 6/10

"Fuck it. This album’s perfect."
*proceeds to give an imperfect score to almost every track*

An album can be perfect without every track necessarily being perfect.
Also, just because I gave a song a 7/10 doesn’t mean I think the song is flawed. It just means it hasn’t done anything to earn being rated higher than a 7/10.

Like Suicide is kind of boring. Obviously not completely boring because I wouldn’t have given it anything over a 5/10. But it’s not very gripping compared to the rest of the album. The song feels like it’s edging me the entire way through. I wouldn’t get rid of it if I could though. It’s not a great song imo but it’s a great closer and has its place on the album.

Not true at all. An album doesn't have to have all 10/10 songs to be a 10/10. That would be almost impossible as I very rarely give songs anything over an 8/10. If at least half of an album is outstanding and the rest is at least pretty good and I don't have any major faults with the album then why not give it a 10/10? I don't just average my track ratings and give that as my rating for the album. I rate an album based on what I feel it accomplishes as an album. This album is incredibly meticulously written, well-sequenced, varied and I always find new things to appreciate about it every time I listen to it. I don't understand why you're projecting how you personally rate albums onto me.
For reference, here are my track ratings for an album I actually did rate an 8/10, albeit a high 8/10 (OK Computer):
Airbag - 7/10
Paranoid Android - 8/10
Subterranean Homesick Alien - 7/10
Exit Music (for a Film) - 8/10
Let Down - 9/10
Karma Police - 8/10
Electioneering - 8/10
Climbing Up the Walls - 9/10
No Surprises - 9/10
Lucky - 8/10
The Tourist - 8/10
I assume you wrote this comment operating under the logic that I give pretty much any song I enjoy a 10/10, but I only give songs a 9/10 or more if I think they're particularly outstanding, and it's rare for an album to have this many, in my opinion, outstanding songs. If an album had to have all 10/10 songs to be a 10/10 then I would probably never give an album anything over an 8/10 ever.
