“I pre-ordered this because I loved march of the fire ants and have hated this since day 1. Everything about it from songwriting to production rubs me the wrong way“
“March...” isn’t even on this record.

No way in hell is Remission their best, though it’s still fucking amazing. Give these guys more credit. Are you saying they haven’t improved as musicians in nearly 20 years? Their best is still when they were amateurs?

"Give these guys more credit"
Actually, this is what is happening in this thread.
"Are you saying they haven’t improved as musicians in nearly 20 years? Their best is still when they were amateurs?"
Cannot follow the thread of your thought. Really. I think Leviathan is the best record they ever made and it's the second one, like i believe AJFA is Metallica's best effort whilst fouth, Sepultura's "Beneath the Remains", Sodom's "Agent Orange" and so on. Who said they are not improved as musicians?

by that logic Larkin, every new album is better than the last and we all know that ain't true, especially with this band

Album Rating: 4.5
Yeah, but with Metallica this is actually happening. I find Saint Anger better than all the previous ones.

they really tried to broaden their musical horizons on that one. you can hear the trinidadian influence on lars' drumming
