"Out of Season" is very good indeed, somewhere between folkier Goldfrapp, early Hooverphonic and Portishead ofc. Getting really hyped about her new album!

New album is fantastic. Arty chamber / progressive folk but with some really interesting arrangements and more than a couple of unexpected twists. It’s safe to say her voice has aged like a fine wine.
It’s almost suffocating in its darkness. The production is very good.
As an aside Sput should theoretically lap this up, lol

Lives Outgrown is an instant and fairly emphatic 4. Enchanting yet vaguely haunting noir artsy folksy wholesomeness
(I say "instant" - heard it three times already this morning, should probably leave it be till tomorrow now)

Lives Outgrown is packed so full of creative flair and constant highlights that it’s exhausting, maybe it could do with being longer just to properly contain them all (is this a criticism? Hmm). I’m almost inclined to say it could do with greater spacing or breathing room, yet the ideas are so strong and the production is a triumph. Idk what I’m saying here… an over-abundance of “full” arrangements detracts from the power of her voice? Perhaps. Like I say though, it’s incredibly strong as a collection of songs and could almost do with being longer. It’s also very heavy / dark in an emotional sense.
After 5 full listens I’m struggling to pick favourites. Burden of Life maybe. Rewind’s krautrock influence / twist is very cool. I love Oceans. But really I could pick almost all of the tracks for various reasons. Even the closer just for the comparative stripped-back quietness it provides.
tl;dr - It’s a fantastic album chock full of wonderful ideas, yet the collective may be less than the sum of its parts to an extent (either way it represents a hugely successful comeback)

And for the love of all things true, please help eliminate the “electronic’” tag from the artist page!
Also, presumably there will be a review? Hope so

It's good to hear this is waiting for me, because I sure am not listening now, I need happy summer groovy vibes.

Yeah I get what you're saying Demon, it's very dense indeed. Heard it only once so far though. But boy is it good!!!

if it’s summery groove you’re wanting, then staying well away (for now) is definitely the best course of action!
I’m looking forward to the day when you can wallow in misery with us Ega.
And yeah I’m still processing this to an extent. There’s a lot to take in here. It may not be something you can dive into on a whim and that’s as someone who embraces darkness quite regularly regardless of season, lol
