I get what you mean, but I think it's kind of different for gay men.



There's such a long history of gay men idolizing female solo artists that date back to Judy Garland speaking in favor of gay rights while also being a powerful persona, Bette Middler performing at gay bathhouses, gays using divas as personas for drag, lip syncing their songs. Also, the general theme of many gay men feeling ousted by straight men societally, so they'll turn to women (even in media form) as a means of escape. Finding their pride while finding these women as powerful people to aspire to be like.



I don't personally relate to a lot of it, but whether it be real life conversations, documentaries, and just knowing about this history, it's not really subtle or hidden or just a stereotype.



And I don't think gay women or transpeople's history take on quite that exact direction. Each part of the community has its own unique culture, I suppose
