Nightwalkers is the song that blew me away the most

Dawn is absolutely brilliant and blows my mind every time i hear it but there’s a subtle magic and moodiness to this one that it can simply never beat imo

But yeah thems my top 2

Indeed it is. I didn't listen to the band until a few years ago so the collective discography didn't have time to settle the way it did for long time fans. I have no nostalgia with any of these albums, it's all just purely sound. I'm sure some of you guys that hail this album have heard it 200 times over the last 18 years or so compared to my 30 times or so over the last 3. Not many were doing this type of sound at the time as well, so I definitely see why it's considered a pillar.
But ultimately, as I mentioned, I love when this band is aggressive and this record is relatively subtle compared to what came later in my opinion. It also has an 'alternative-ish' tint to it which slightly drags it down for me.
I do think it's excellent though and it definitely receives rotation time with me. Thirtyfour, Dim, and the closer are all outstanding but I'm not head over heels with what comes before them even though all of the songs are enjoyable. The album just isn't that 'pillar' record for me.

This is still a pillar, and I disagree about the alternative-ish tint cuz it gives me more of a purposely frail atmosphere cuz of the loneliness theme. Even if I have spun this since 2006, they definitely beat this over time cuz it’s more how Dawn and Long Road have more meat to them and that’s ultimately more interesting to me

and perhaps using the term 'alternative-ish' is the wrong choice of word which is a reason why I haven't written any reviews

Perhaps true although I think Salvation is peak CoL subtlety. What about The Beyond for that aggressiveness?

Holy shit I might actually like this more than Salvation
Not sure yet though, need to spin them both more (after my discog run)
I heard this and Salvation last year, but then I preferred Salvation but this one really stuck with me this time around

Ok I get it now
Still don't really fuck with their debut that much, though - excited to get to the rest of their stuff

Fair enough, only jammed their first two albums for the first time today.
Salvation and Somewhere Along The Highway I've only heard once like a year ago, the rest of their shit I never heard before.
But so far, Salvation and Somewhere Along The Highway are majestic af

Lmao trueee
Yeah they're going to be one of my favorite bands, I can already tell.
I did an ISIS run last year as well, but also only jammed their albums once so I am due for a relisten there as well. I also have to listen to The Ocean, Amenra and Rosetta.

At least with Rosetta you only have four albums to worry about lol. And it mostly seems like just me who stands up for the fourth around here, and I agree it's really not up to the standard of the first three.
SATH is a pillar, obv, but ADTF to me is just better at this point.
