although Dusk In Us isn't on the same level as their previous records, its still far better than pretty much any other metalcore band out there in the 2010s

@Demon AWLWLB proves you wrong

One worse album afterwards doesn’t mean they are not top tier anymore

'AWLWLB proves you wrong'

I love AWLWLB so really, it doesn't. Yeah one average album doesn't necessarily mean their best days are behind them, it's just a feeling I get. You can't produce greatness forever, maybe we're witnessing the beginning of the end here? They sound worryingly comfortable. Also, contrary to popular opinion I didn't even like Eve that much.

Again, I'm hoping they prove me wrong.

Sorry you feel that way man.

As long as the band continues to put out records of this quality I’m good. I’m not expecting another AWLWLB but this is still a damn fine album imo

If it's any comfort, You Fail Me was considered mediocre and watered down by many when it came out. Though fairly well liked on sputnik, it did have a 3.9 average on the site when I joined, compared to the 4.1 it has now. No Heroes is also not the most well-liked album they have made, and that came before two of their best ones.

So by those metrics, I do not find it too worrying that The Dusk in Us may not be as affecting as their best releases. And if they do decline going forwards, at least we have tons of good albums to go back to.

This is the first Converge album that I've enjoyed and I enjoyed this one immensely. Was one of the best of the year.

It's certainly not their worst when Halo exists but it is definitely low tier Converge.
