nice, stranger ways is pretty good (sounds like their typical moody ballad) but I think I still prefer Dissenter for the time being.

i'm really liking stranger ways, i mean yeah "typical moody ballad" is pretty damn accurate but they're damn good at ballads so idgaf. that 80s feel tho

can't help but to feel like it was building towards an explosion it never got to but it was pretty good all things considered.

gonna listen to dissenter now

They don't sound like a band that really fit with harsh vox

yeah the biggest strength of the band is stephen's voice and that's neutralized by screams

I highly doubt he'll be singing like that for the rest of the album - pretty sure it's a one off song

either way, it really grew on me: loved the aggression

and here's something surprising: it's not even the opener (although it awfully sounds like an opener they'd make). really curious what that will sound like

The song would not be a very good opening if they don't repeat the screaming more than once, it wouldn't set a proper introduction or mood. It'd work swell as a contrast to a slower track though

Either way I thought Stranger Ways was a cool song

yeah i figured it own't be hte whole album. still sucks there's already a song there's virtually no chance of me being more than lukewarm about.

agreed with gwyn, it's prob gonna be that mid-section rocker in the vein of to the wolves, reclusion, and desires. god i hope it's the "to the wolves" of this album (i.e. the worst song)

stranger ways was definitely cool, agreed with others that it seemed to fizzle out given all the momentum it built but i guess that was intended. gonna wait and see how the rest of the album turns out. neither song seems "bad" to me, just not quite to my liking.

hmm, that is true

it is placed after the track Birds of Prey, which I think is the song Stephen wrote about the fans, meaning it most likely will be a slower song.

sidenote but here's the official album art: http://tinyurl.com/jwe9vm3

oh and in reference to the comment about the 80s sound, Stephen titled it after using this thing right here: http://morrisseysongtitlegenerator.com/

It'll certainly be a lot less creepy to look at without the gold after having read that winnie the pooh joke
