Idk, I think this one's pretty timeless compared to other relics of the time

Album is a great snapshot of high school/university / being in your 20's life imo, probably why so many people relate to it

I honestly can't wait for an alt rock revival. Hard to believe there was a time where mainstream radio was dominated in the 90's with the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, all the grunge and othe rrock scenes. Hell now the closest thing you'll hear on mainstream top 40 radio that's rock is Imagine Dragons.

Whereas the average listener may find this band and their small sample of singles one one of those god awful Father’s Day gift compilation albums, delving deeper into their work will show you exactly what this band has to offer. Their first album is a journey through loss and the pain that comes with it, and wanting more than ‘just this’, be it in one’s love life, or personal ambitions. When the album finally closes, you’ll realise the emotions this album has brought out in you. Graduate will have you jumping out of your seat, wanting to headbang to Jenkins’ collective frustrations. The Background will have you back in your seat, head in your hands as you remember a former flame you’ve lost. Cadogan’s influence on Third Eye Blind is well understood amongst it’s hardcore fanbase, and his work on this album puts Third Eye Blind at the top of it’s category of late 90’s alt-rockers.

I am so so grateful that I got obsessed with this album in high school because it is so much fun to revisit every spring and fall in love with again.

Same point1! I was in 10th grade. This came out around the time I fell in love for the first time, and became the soundtrack of my life/therapy when we inevitably broke up a few months later.

Listening to this brings back so many memories, good and bad (though I can sorta laugh at them now). I actually think of this as more of a fall/leaves on the ground type of album. There’s just some sort of association there for me.
