"Beep boop, I have no emotions, just kidding I have too many emotions boop boop beep"
If this isn't the most accurate summation of this album I've ever heard

I was going to declare that this passed its ‘5/5 test’ with flying colours, but then that’d be slightly disingenuous... because it should be a 6/5. As stunning as the day I first heard it, the difference now is instead of it being alien, experimental and ultimately life-changing, I can just sit back and thoroughly enjoy it without reservation.

I guess I'm still the only person on the face of the planet who hates Optimistic and think it totally disrupts the flow here
everything else is perfect though, the run of In Limbo/Idioteque/Morning Bell is so kino

Optimistic is fine for what it is, breaks things up a little, whether that’s to the album’s detriment is certainly up for debate I guess. It doesn’t bother me personally, but if I had to pick a weak point then I’ll give you that one.
I’d adjust that run slightly... the last 3 tracks are my favourite part of this, love it when an album ends on a high and I’d argue there probably isn’t anything ‘higher’. In Limbo is superb as well though, fine margins.

Optimistic always felt like an OK Computer song superimposed onto this album. It's a terrible fit but a great song.

Optimistic is the rockiest song here, but it definitely isn't an OKC track
Glad to see In Limbo getting some love here. On some days, that's my favourite RH

I dunno I could see it fitting on OKC quite easily. Similar tempo, increased guitar presence...maybe not a perfect fit but better than here.

This has no filler, OKC is really good but there's a couple of throwaway tracks imo.

Kid A > OKC barely, yeah

Both amazing records and I probably jam OKC more tbh, due to how much more listenable it is at any given time.
When I'm in the mood this always hits hard though, In Rainbows just pips it for top spot.

In Rainbows is 3rd for me, recently overtook AMSP. Those are my untouchable 4, the rest of their discography is still great but nowhere near that level.

AMSP is gold, definitely need to jam it more.
Can safely say Daydreaming is one of my fave RH tracks as well.

The weird thing about AMSP is that I don't have very many standout favorites. Every song is just a 3.9/5 ish and a whole album of that quality without missing a beat is amazing. If I had to pick I'd say Ful Stop, but every moment plays a key role. Glass Eyes would have been an amazing track 1.

It's one of those albums that benefits a full play through rather than picking individual tracks, agreed.
For me TKOL is their underrated gem, genuinely adore that record.

I hated TKOL when it dropped, revisited it again a year later and still actively disliked it - but at the time I really had no taste for electronic music. I've been on a Radiohead binge for the last week and I downloaded TKOL under the assumption that I'll find something to like about it lol. I spun it yesterday for the first time in 8 years but I was super busy and couldn't give it a focused listen. I remember hearing things I really liked, especially towards the end of the album. Maybe I'll give it another go today.

It's a pretty eclectic record yet remarkably consistent, if that makes any sense haha.
RH haven't released many stinkers at all though really, have they.
