I don't want to sound ignorant, but I cannot understand how people cannot love Protest the Hero (minus Rody's vocals which are a clear "love it or hate it" thing). Their songwriting is awesome; they are technical, all the while being catchy; they are heavy without doing very much "chugga chugga"; and their lyrics (though some may call them pretentious) are intelligent and, in my opinion, amazing.

Not really, band has one good song (turn soonest to the sea). Everything else they've done ranges from painfully boring to incredibly shitty. They're like new BTBAM, assclowns enjoy them.

Notice how I said recent Edguy, as in when the band became a parody of themselves and released a bunch of songs about gay sex. Also it can be as "metaphorical" as it wants. That doesn't change the fact that some of the lyrics on this and Kezia are more cringeworthy than the line about growing pubes in "Hate Everyone".
