That interview with Josh and Iggy makes me super hyped up for the record they're making together but I don't know if they will even be able to deliver. I'm not a big fan of Iggy's aged voice so who knows what this will turn out to be. I'm excited to see the performance on Colbert's show

More and more I'm thinking this will be QOTSA's defining record.

I'm inclined to agree with JWT, but SFTD is defining for their stoner-alt rock sound.

I think it all depends on how their sound changes. Songs for the Deaf is fantastic but it'll hardly be an overall representation of their sound if they continue to evolve and make more subdued music. This record just seems to me as the perfect representation of what they are capable of from the chugging guitar riffs to the pleasant melodies. Songs for the Deaf is very one dimensional in comparison, I'll agree with Evo that it's a genre defining record for stoner rock but it's only a small sample size of what QOTSA can do.

Can't lie, I don't like this as much as Rated R, SFTD or the self-titled.

This is my favorite, but SFTD is close behind.

I haven't listened to much else by them, but this is the only one I've really loved. Their earlier stuff is so different tho
