Obviously MJ's brain works backwards.
1. You read about this band somewhere, how influential and amazing they are.
2. You listen. "Wtf, this is just noise, how can anyone like this?"
3. You keep reading about it. "Wow.. I must have listened to the wrong song or something."
4. "God, this is still so noisy, I don't understand, I must be missing something."
5. Wait awhile.
6. You read about it again. "Well, it wasn't so bad last time, maybe if I try a whole album."
7. "Well, damn, this is pretty good. I'm starting to understand and digest it. I can actually hear the riffs."
8. "What is he saying..?" Looks up lyrics. "HOLY SHIT, this is beautiful."
9. Keep listening, it gets better and better as you can hear every instrument and more of what Jacob is screaming about.
10. BAM. Holy shit, this is amazing. I.. I'm so glad I found this.
11. It only gets better from here.

hahaha nice eternium. I looked at the lyrics while listening so his RRAAHAHAHAHRHRRSHAAHRASRHARHIOOHFAIOHIAWFOHAW made more sense.... well not really but I could see why he was doing the previously stated (x

"this is just the most powerful embodiment of anger and pain I've ever heard"- then listen to more music. Also, Eternium actually kinda hit it but this album is still overrated.

You must still be on step 9.
Axe to Fall is my second favorite. It's more accessible too.

Axe to Fall is rly rly good but this beats it to death man, buy some new ears.

You Fail me is a pretty close second to this I think.

I just think that Axe to Fall is a better and more consistent album. More diverse, and better overall vocals. However, I will admit, that lyrically, Jane Doe is a masterpiece. However, a few of the songs ANNOOYYYYY the shit out of me, but then there are those like "Fault and Fracture" and "Thaw" that are just amazing.

And to sniper, I'll go with CTTS (sorry), and possibly... hmmm... I'm quite a fan of skramz now besides CTTS, and Funeral Diner and Suis La Lune master the beauty/anger combination.

You Fail Me is probably my third.
After what MJ just said, I might just start ignoring him.

but I haven't listened to Jane Doe enough to let it grow. I'll get around to it eventually again. I will stand by that some songs are pointless and annoying though. But again, some are just fucking brilliant.

" i had hoped it would die along with the scene and all the retro-'80s metal shirts and girl jeans. "
I don't know what scene you're talking about, but Converge has never been a part of any scene (except their hometown and early metalcore scene), since they have never been mainstream enough.

actually Eternium they are part of the critically acclaimed hardcore scene. You dont have to be mainstream to be part of a 'scene'.

That's a totally different kind of scene though and that's what I meant by early metalcore scene. Those kinds of scenes don't die off, but are treasured in history.

dude stop blowing this band haha. some songs on here say: "Like me, Im loud and about relationship trouble", and most of those songs just suck. But the ones that say: "Like me, Im about relationship/life troubles, and Im loud" and OFFER other interesting qualities besides RARWRWRARARARRWRA are pretty brilliant.
|
| |
Yeah dude he means the DIY hardcore/early metalcore scene.
And Neutral, this is more powerful than any screamo record I've ever heard, and definitely angrier.
