"@Alex you're for real? I was almost certain that 5 was a troll rating. Glad to be wrong, if I indeed am."

i don't think its an actual 5 but its prob like a 4 yeah.

i don't finish / don't really care to discuss stuff i don't like so i kinda stopped rating things after i realized i only give things a 3.5 or above

Oh, this is real bad. Real bad. How in the world did two of these songs end up over 5 minutes?? So many parts feel like they just ad-libbed on a random synth, tracked it, and then wrote a song around it.

As someone who has barely listened to A7X, there are a few fun parts--like the groove in "Rejoice." But man, the rest is not good. And I'm sure it's compound 7X for folks who have their older stuff in regular rotation...

Some dude on YouTube used a huge paragraph to describe all of his musical influences and favorite bands to try to justify his liking of this album.

"I'm also the same person who enjoys stuff like clipping., Psyopus, Jute Gyte and Krallice so I guess I'm far gone. Statica is pretty sick"

Ok bro. You can like Krallice and still think this album is ass

Jute Gyte's too niche and bizarre to be a casual namedrop so maybe that person really does see something in this. Can't say what it is!

ultimately i just love the fact that they've acknowledged they're set for life and they'll be able to play arenas forever off the back of their 2005-13 material... so why not continue to challenge yourself artistically and do whatever the hell you want since there's zero consequences for failing?

they could be printing money just doing the safe nostalgia bait bullshit slipknot, lamb of god, bullet, and nearly every other metal band who has ever vaguely reached their level has been doing for who knows how long now. feels nice to know one of these huge bands is still in it purely for the love of the game.

What in the primordial proboscis monkey's unsettling mating ritual is going on here?

idk, I think "challenge" in art needs to mean something. That last Slipknot album was touted as their "experimental" one and it sucks ass.
