i watched a bit of her lollapalooza set and she had a full band and these songs sounded quite a bit livelier. guitar tones were still roughly the same but the looser performance added a lot. really highlighted how castrated the instrumentals are here, too glossy and quantized for its own good even if i think it works on a few tracks
still think rock music is this album's masterpiece, i wish what followed was half as daring
