this is my thread so we're keeping the conversation to the topic at hand. And any other drama that comes up that is interesting

Hm

I definitely like Eternal Blue more (just listened to them back to back for comparison) as well as Fear of Fear, but this has some of their best tracks ever.

Perfect Soul is like a fucking 100/10 and that closer rips

Some tracks don't really land as well and it's not constant banger after banger like Eternal Blue

Edit: LOVE the Meshuggah style of the first song though, very much appreciate that

Prob between 3.5 and 4, gonna get the vinyl just cause I'm a Spiritbox fanboy but I'm hoping album #3 will be more of an instant classic for me, because I'm basically predisposed to love everything they do so that's not that big of an ask from me

I mean it was less experimental and more "pop" but the hooks on every song fucking ruled, flow was tighter, etc

I still really dig this though, wont rate it until a week or two

In response to Ectier saying modern metalcore is cooked:

Plenty of new metalcore better than this for the record. Check Foreign Hands, Killing Me Softly, Balmora, Azshara, Scarab, Contention who are all bringing the genre back to its non-overproduced, metal influenced sound. This is from someone not crazy on Daoboys

I think he was saying there aren’t going to be many good metalcore releases this year not that there aren’t good bands necessarily

Ya I think is honestly way more consistent than Eternal Blue, only song I don't like is Ride The Wave lol. Haven is so fucking good too, I love that old EP sound it brings

That's fair Nash, I think I'm just hyped on the state of the genre after seeing the Hellfest/Ephyra lineup this weekend lol. Major fomo not getting to go and shows me the metalcore I loved isn't just lost to time
