"I don't understand what the 2 have to do with each other but sure"

Challenge was made for both of them to do negative reviews a few pages back.

Tundra, I'm not kidding... you are the most honest person on this entire site. When people accuse you of being disingenuous I just laugh

Oh ok. I thought they just made negative reviews on their own. Didn't know it was a challenge lol

"all publicity is good publicity" is seemingly true, in this instance at least, lol

yeah, two of the greats... formative / 'origin of' post-rock = the best post-rock. Not always of course, but on average I'd say it has the highest ratio of the good shit

I said something similar in the other thread recently, that post-rock was at its best before the genre’s tropes became fully established. A lot of this era is barely even recognisable vs what it became. Quite literally the intended 'rock instruments but used in atypical ways' ideals that the descriptor was centred around

My only post rock experiences are seeing Godspeed at a festival years ago and jamming a Rosetta album like 10 years ago so it makes sense I missed out on this. Kind of curious to get into more now

I've listened to F#A#∞ and Lift Your Skinny Fists, both were damn near transcendental and terrifying in equal measure

It’s like sort of post-punk/post-hardcore adjacent at times too, shit is so raw

I'm pretty sure botb is talking about this and not Rosetta

Rosetta are post-metal but they do have some post-rock leaning / influences (worth checking for sure tho!)

lol norma

The thing is most post-rock bands are just ambitious rock bands, this is an entirely different thing. More post than rock.
