the main colton self own is that the colton self own is presented as self aware and yet, there could be a larger, not-self aware colton self own at play here

Colton is a mystery, a palindrome that can't be read backwards.

I recommend taking out the three drone chimeras, putting in some good headphones and turning off the lights and this is a hell of an album.

Yeah, the Drone tracks are a tad bit of a slog but songs like vacillator are truly terrific. I'm all for the darker tone she explored on this for the actual songs, they do play a role in relieving the discomfort of the drone parts.

the drone parts may be a little long in the teeth but I feel like there is purpose to it so I really cannot be too mad. besides, i liked mirror reaper, drone became a lot easier to stomach the more i got into things like funeral doom and Sunn O)))

plus it's unintrusive enough to where if something like this came on while i was working on something like coding i wouldn't be worried about how immediately exciting it is

I agree, if you have a taste for it, they're really not that bad. They probably are there for the feel and overall album cohesion that wouldn't be as impactful without them. Houseofpsycoticwomn ties really well into vacillator for example with the unnerving repetitive "i love you" compounding toward the summary's lyrics. The songs probably didn't have to be as long as they are but they do serve a purpose that I kinda dig. The review really helped me understand that aspect of the album.

Definitely interested in what she'll do next, moreso than when Preachers Daughter dropped.

Plus after looking into it, that track in particular you shouted has been in the works since 2021?

Yeah housofpsychoticwomn used to have a really unnerving video on her YouTube channel. Wonder where it went

I like all the American Gothic imagery she has on her yt paired up with videos about her favorite gay porn.

Good points all around, but I'm old and gotta choose my songs carefully. Not much sand left in the clock, friends.

I am also old, and this reminds me of my brain in high school. Dark, occasionally absent, and wholly depressing. I need to play this again with my noise cancelling headphones on and a dark room to sit in.

Have we all collectively agreed this is overrated as hell yet? Seems like we’re moving that way (hopefully)
