Anyone else find themselves just staring at the album art for like 5 minutes

I really am not a fan of the complete Pink Floyd rip off in the first song, feels so out of place especially compared to the face melting dm riffs right after

@Jay, yes, but I'm also listening to it while extremely baked

The album art is pretty sick no doubt.
But like others have said a lot of the jumps back and forth between death metal and proggy stuff feel kinda forced / abrupt

This shit felt like it was over in a flash. Very beautifully orchestrated. As others have said, some of transitions from dm to prog rock and back can be jarring, but once you embrace your sense of adventure you get used to it. If Cynic is valid then so is this. Masterfully done, as always.

ppffffffff dude, Blood Incantation has been in this universe since the beginning of times, they traverse the boundaries of space and time. Pink Floyd was influenced by Blood Incantation through dreams a universal DNA, so they could prepare us for this record.

I only jammed the first track so far but godamn I really hate jarring transitions. Im not sure how much I'll be able to tolerate/embrace them when the vinyl shows up. I'll remain optimistic for now, but I should really reconsidery habit of pre-ordering vinyl before hearing anything moving forward.

Kind of a dark take on earlier Gamma Ray album artwork

I feel like the metal of this isn’t that good. Like the metal parts don’t seem as good as Starspawn or Hidden History. More basic

Krautrock (also called kosmische Musik, German for "cosmic music"[9][10][11]) is a broad genre of experimental rock that developed in West Germany in the late 1960s and early 1970s.[10] It originated among artists who blended elements of psychedelic rock, avant-garde composition, and electronic music, among other eclectic sources.[12] Common elements included hypnotic rhythms, extended improvisation, musique concrète techniques, and early synthesizers,[13][12] while the music generally moved away from the rhythm & blues roots and song structure found in traditional Anglo-American rock music.[14] Prominent groups associated with the krautrock label included Neu!, Can, Faust, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel, Popol Vuh, Amon Düül II and Harmonia.[5]
