Yeah I'm with Mort tbh. I have dug most of these guys' stuff (minus Amo) and I couldn't care less what any "elitists" think about it lol.

band has bangers from most of their albums imo, i used to love the debut but struggle to find anything to go back to on it now

suicide season and there is a hell were the closest they ever got to making metalcore classics, and i think theres some genuinely great songs from that era (the comedown for example is a 10/10)

really it was sempiternal that first sort of let me down, wasnt the grand reinvention/step forward that core fans/the alternative scene perceived it as. thought they really dropped the ball songwriting wise in favour of a style that prioritised production/atmosphere and false sense of epicness

There is A Hell is a fun time. Easily their creative peak right there

When the intro of Limousine hit I thought it was a Deftones song. Dude even sounds like Chino in the chorus

yeah they have some really solid metalcore tracks around that era, Crucify me, alligator blood, it never ends, home sweet hole, visions and blacklist were all pretty solid tracks (dont know if they hold up, havent listened to that album in a long time)

i just feel like they really jumped the gun by adding all these disparate elements to their sound.

This record is awesome. Pure pleasure for my ADHD brain. Reminds me a lot of Pay money To my Pain. It's cool to see the band do so many different styles and surreal when you think back to their early stuff when they were "just another deathcore," band. I liked AMO a lot even though it was really poppy, this is treading similar ground but feels heavier, more engaging, and more original. Dig the video game aesthetic, really great stuff and pleased to have Lee's guitars front and center again.

Yeah. Every once in a while they get it right and clusterfuck something fun together like Kingslayer tho.

Lol Jay… that take is hilarious. I’ve never considered disliking these guys as being elitism. Far as I knew they were pretty universally regarded as shite
