What's with the "probably" leaving, though? Strange way of putting it out there, unless it's some sort of desperate measure to address issues that were brought up internally and never resolved, and now she's hoping that with external pressure those issues are addressed.

Yeah that’s most likely the case. Connie isn’t the most stable person (she’d be the first to admit it) so I wouldn’t expect her to handle the backlash very well. She’s probably just putting that out there to distance herself from the situation a bit. Kinda worrisome tbh. If she left the band that would be tragic. They could probably find another vocalist easily, but Connie was the visionary behind almost everything they did.

Their fanbase is melting down over the tour announcement which is 100% to be expected given the base they have built and Connie saying they dont support their own bands decision to be on this tour is a joke. I dont care either way, make up your mind though and standy by your own decision.

I am really wondering what DGD is planning to do on the tour. Are they just moving forward with Andrew Wells doing all the cleans? Was kinda hoping they would get someone new (or bring back Kurt or just go nuclear, drop DBM III with Jonny and breakup).

I thought they said Andrew was the official full-time vocalist for DGD. I stopped following them at all after the Tilian shit came out and I didn't really like their stuff with him anyway save for a few songs.

I hope Connie is okay mentally given her history but I commend her for standing on her morals and not trying to hand wave the situation. I think SYSC is done without her but I also think the quality of their music has dramatically decreased with all the clean vocals. I don't like Taylor's singing very much and I thought the band was way better when he was limited like in Misinterpreting Constellations. So I'm feeling like if she moves on I'm going to be more into her new project.

For some reason, I never really expected SYSC to be a project that lasts but it's still sad to see that materialize.

Touring with DGD is icky. I understand why they would do it from a business perspective, but it is kind of a slap in the face to their actual fanbase. Have to imagine the tweet is a hail mary attempt to get them to change course, but who knows.

echoing the sentiment that I hope the tweet is an attempt to force a change, I really don't wanna see them be done cause I really loved this album. I applaud Connie tho, she is so cool and genuine

Connie's tweet kind of makes it sound like there was already some inner turmoil with the band and this could be a final straw type of thing.

From a quick skim of events my guess is Connie was against the tour from the get go, got out voted by the rest of the band, and now that it's public can safely escape rope out of there. Well, interested to see what she does next.

man making decisions like that off a vote is so whack. if 2/5 members of my band didn’t want to play a show then we wouldn’t play it. internal relationships should be more important than getting paid for a gig, especially if that gig/tour is going to make your band look bad in the first place. i wonder how much label and management pressure factored into it.

And also literally the most important and recognizable part of the band.

I’m sorry I don’t wanna jump to conclusions but Connie is a phenomenal vocalist and the band is dead without her. And now we’re finding out that she’s not the only one that was against this? Band is fucking done, Connie and the drummer should start some other shit, fuck them other three.

Connie's brother is a guitarist in the band. If she and the drummer are outnumbered, that means he voted in favor of the tour, which would have to really suck that your own brother isn't with you.
