Yeah, I've heard a few good ones too, but not many standing out.

Nah there have been some absolute heaters this year
Killing Me Softly, Vianova, Advent, Bleeding Through, Deadguy, Daoboys, even blessthefall was pretty good.
Bunch of the revivalcore bands released music this year too. Azshara, Long Goodbye, withpaperwings, And I Dreamt Of You, Balmora, etc

Daoboys, Greyhaven and Killing Me Softly are definitely the best ones I've heard so far.

Not gonna pretend like I've quite deepdived revivalcore but I quite like the merging of modern fuller production with the absolute assblasting riff game that late 90s-early 2000s core was so good at
I.e bands like Foreign Hands, -some- Dying Wish and to a lesser extent MySpace-core revival i.e Thus Spoke Zarathustra

I mean
I can't speak for Balmora
But I've always felt that musical plagiarism in an age where a million and one sound have been made is kind of sweet when it's actually really well done
I kind of find myself caring less and less about ingenuity in music as time passes ngl

hard for me when i've heard allegiance endless times. that album has some 1 to 1 riffs and breakdown rips.

I'm with Dedes, and hardcore in particular has had bands ripping off riffs/mosh parts since the 80s. There's even a breakdown on Allegiance that sounds exactly like one off a Martyr AD album (Believe its Beneath the Surface and Serpent and the Plague)

it's just another thing for me when revivalcore especially deathcore gets so much credit for being fresh lol. like ripping off legends never die one of the genres iconic songs come on bruh. but i need to check out psycho-frame heard they're good

I think it's considered "fresh" because the genre itself stagnated so bad to a lot of people that literally anything that delved beyond breakdowns leading into breakdowns leading into breakdowns and goofy animal noises starts to feel like a renewal lol
Tbf however I don't think I'm quite as much a deathcore connoisseur as you are so I won't claim to know much

you are definitely right but still fresh to me isn't doing the same shit again but worse haha. but this is my autistic obsession for sure lol.

I def think freshness is a product of the environment as well. Sleep Token is the face of the genre and legacy bands like Underoath are making the worst music of their career to stay relevant. When bands are bringing it back to "the good old days", it's easy to see why more fans gravitate towards it. That being said, Psycho Frame is pretty underwhelming deathcore for me despite being more in line with what I look for.
