Honestly between this album and the new Empty Country, 2023 might be saved.

2023 has been a great year musically for me, I'm gonna have some hard decisions to make later down the line lol

Before Friday, Paul Simon was my runaway AOTY (justifiably!) but the next closest contenders were Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold lol.

Well goodness, we have indeed had very different experiences lol, what year is it???

2003? Has felt like it at times with the pop-punk explosion.

OK well if that's your vibe, allow me to present your AotY lol

I’ve really seen no one mention this yet but me. No one gets JEW/Death Cab at their best vibes from this?

sowing your previous aoty frontrunners say more about you than the year 2023 :D

I mean, I enjoy pop-punk but I'd say indie-folk is my niche and this year has been barren. That said, this has been the busiest year for me personally in a decade so I've had a lot less time to listen to music in general which I'm sure has had an effect on my perception.

is 2023 the new 2003 or the new 2013

oh man loving this. emphatically gorgeous stuff
had to get a little drunk for this in memory of all the nights I spent wasted listening to TDDB. was a little worried at that clunky arse transition from Holding Back to Bedroom Door but fully on board from Love Comes Around, one of their instant best

Niiiice gotta get the ol gang back together for this one.
I think it’s wrong to come in expecting them to top TDDB after 10 years which would be hard to do, so I didn’t expect that. I’m so happy they still got it in em 😁

This band is so strongly in the Trophy Scars camp of earnest seeming good blokes overlooked everywhere on earth that isn't Sputnik that part of me is just happy to see them blow up; doubt any reaction I'd get from jamming this would be stronger than that feeling
Last time we got something similar was in the form of sappy cornballs from that creep band Adjy, so will gladly take this as a replacement
