I'm trying to listen to other stuff and resist the temptation of just jamming this on repeat lol
Likely won't be my AotY when all is said and done, but it's firmly in the top 10. Everything I wanted from these guys and a bit more on top.

Said before, but wish they incorporated more of the new alb into their setlist, or at least used tracks off the beaten path. "Maladapted" being chosen outside of the singles is def solid, but gimme at least "60-Minute Session Blocks" on the side!

Respectable?

I don't really get the swancore comparisons here. They're maybe adjacent but this feels way different than anything in that genre over the past 10+ years. Even Wake doesn't really sound swancore to me.

They've always been more fall of troy/circa survive type post hardcore but get lumped in with the other swans by association really

I'd say they have a mix of all those bands. After all, Hail the Sun is one of the most post-hardcory band's out there.

honestly some of the riffier sections of early PTV and the buildups into choruses arent totally different to this. The first couple Pierce the Veil records had at least a bit of swancore appeal. Hail the Sun is still WAY better as a whole tho
