Yeah the polish on the art gives off mega Apple Genmoji vibes it’s bad

ooo that album art is BAD BAD

think the songs are just good and it's not a production issue either. the lyrics and melodies just feel so simplified and straightforward, it's a very dumbed down style of YC. night and day compared to the cool stuff they were doing on this and Big If unfortunately
excited for the Skiba feature though

I think "Honestly I" brings huge "The Sound of You and Me" vibes while "Better Days" is very much a Southern Air song. Both tracks feel very Paper Walls-esque in terms of production. I honestly couldn't be much happier. I just wish the breakdown at the end of Better Days went for another 30 seconds. Right as I start to think "oh fuck yes", that's when it ends.

Better Days feels flaccid to me but I agree that interlude/bridge I was like yes indeed finally and then it ended lol

and here I was resisting the urge to mention that album lol
definitely feels like the sound lands somewhere between Southern Air and Papers Walls so I'm with you there ;)

Two of their best eras, so I'm hyped.

just hope that the rest of the album has that diversity that I like about PW but it being 32 minutes isn't giving me a whole lot of hope there tbh

I'm torn. On the one hand I'm kind of tired of overinflated 16-17 track albums (not from this band, just as a trend), and almost always end up cutting them down to the best 10-12. If YC has truly only given us their best, I'll be perfectly happy with 32 minutes of bangers. But if there's a bunch of filler, obviously that'll be disappointing. Based on these two singles though, they're off to a very strong start.

Take What You Want is catchy as all hell. Maybe not their best lyrics ever, but holy earworm batman.

TWYW is pretty tight, my least fave of the 3 singles so far tho
also just realized Brunkvist is dressed as Marty McFly in the Better Days music video lol obvi the video has a Blockbuster theme going on, but i'm still picking up references 100 watches later
