tbh low-consciousness is not the crit I'd got for this - idiot rock can still be catchy or infectious as hell (as norma's fedora full of nu-metal 5s would love to be able to attest to), but this album is just dull

Paper machete is pretty solid but the rest is super predictable after hearing the first single. Homme on his own just isn't a good songwriter.
How the reviewer thinks era vulgaris is the lowest release in their catalogue probably just shows his poor musical judgement
