So has anybody noticed one of the vocal melodies in O sounds remarkably like something from a Tame Impala song?

Those deeply spoken parts in "G" remind me of the spoken parts from Tool's "Rosetta Stoned"

Great prog album from a band that I never would have thought had it in them. I thought The Stage was a step in right direction, but this completely blows it out the water along with my expectations.

“ get fucked periphery”
alright come on, avenged sevenfold at their worst is better than that dogshit ass band
But Im happy to see how much people are liking this record. I’m in love.
Waking the Fallen and Nightmare were always my favorites, I could definitely see this surpassing them in time

ok honestly I wish Spencer Sotelo was doing vocals on this, it'd be bordering a 5 if he was.

The vocals are just rough, man. Like he sounds so hoarse.

only tracks his vocals really bother me is the opener and "nobody"
everything else this more understated delivery he's using fits the song and/or he's drenched in effects

That might be the most batshit insane take I've seen this year. Spencer's voice is absolutely unlistenable

Gotta say though, Cosmic is absolutely fantastic. Probably one of the best songs I've ever heard from these guys

Happy af everyone's enjoying this, even on first listen it's got that sleeper classic status about it. It gets consistently better with multiple listens and especially a good set of headphones or IEMs, the mix (while dry and basic) is fine and every instrument gets a chance to shine without overpowering the others. I love how the mix is really basic and dry instead of being overly processed and produced to shit like most modern stuff. Like the album embraces a lot of modern music trends while also being a giant fuck you to modern music trends. It's great

I have to admit, I’m really pleased everyone is resonating with this. I was expecting to get totally flamed for my score here. Good to know I wasn’t going crazy. After “nobody” came out I revisited their discog, and bar a few moments in it where I feel a bit warmer towards their work, it still doesn’t do a great deal for me. So it’s insane that this does what it does. It’s going to be hard following up with this one because it’s genuine lightning in a bottle.

"yeah spencer wouldn't fit this band/album at all and i say that as a big fan of his" i mean maybe but i just prefer his type of sound over Shadows any day of the week.
