If they founded it though, they still would have to of been one of the first to do this, so that wouldn't make them generic. I guess what im saying is that you have to be kind of copying someone to be generic, and these guys are not copying anyone, people are copying them. Sort of.
Excellent review once again, Thor. I'm getting this today.

I got it, and after one listen, I didn't like it that much. Maybe it'll grow on me.This Message Edited On 03.16.08

This is good, but like most metalcore its kind of dull so I can't love it.

i was really high the day before yesterday and giles came on music choice metal and i was obsessed with the snare. it sounded like someone playing racquetball at warp speed. it was amazing. now i want this really bad.

Just got home from a show featuring Five Finger Death Punch, Otep, Unearth and Shadow's Fall, it was fucking sick. Unearth had my favorite set, but they didn't play So It Goes, which was a buzzkill. I know I'll be aching all over when I wake up tomorrow.

I don't see much "-core" on this album at all. As far as I can figure, this is straight-up metal, possibly one of the best NWOAHM albums out there.

The finest moment yet for an amazingly talented group of guys. I can't wait to see where they go from here.

...did you not hear all of the breakdowns? Not saying that's a bad thing, but it's pretty obvious.

I must admit, the first time I heard Giles the way the snare (or whatever he's banging in the intro) sounded annoyed me to no end.

Then I heard it again later and was blown away.

Saw Unearth 4 nights ago with Shadows Fall, Otep, A Life Once Lost, and Five Finger Death Punch. Unearth put on the best show imo, I got the crap beaten out of me in the pits though. Sanctity of Brothers and Giles were amazing

Wait, since when was Shadows Fall on tour with Unearth? I just went to a Shadows Fall show last night and they were playing with Kataklysm and Arsis...

There's only one explanation for this...

Shadows Fall has a twin band!

It wasn't a tour, it was a 60th Anniversary celebration show of a local heavy metal radio station. Those bands interrupted their tours to stop at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, for a pretty well-sold show sponsored by the radio station. I wrote a journal entry about it thats still visible on the page if anybody's interested.

But no, this had nothing to do with the bands' tours.
