Initial thoughts on new album: sounds a lot less polished and matured compared to this one. Sorta sounds like he’s going back to his roots a little. June Guitar, Spinning, Louisiana, and Headlights are the ones sticking out to me the most after one play

I think he's fully matured by this point and I think his new one is his most confident and personal album yet but I was kinda dry on it after the first couple listens, it's an atmospheric Whole Album As An Experience kinda release imo

i really enjoyed it... it's got a lot of little things i like. A lot of slowcore-ish moments which i dig, and less "quirky" experimetal soundscape stuff that's more suited for something like an OST rather than a singer-songwriter album.
Beam me up, headlights, far and wide and hotel Logan are my favs from the tracklist.

It's honestly the first Alex G album in which there are zero skips for me

@slex I mean, bounce boy almost gets there. Definitely the weakest track.

I actually really like Bounce Boy and it's short enough to not skip lol

A lot of cool experiments on the new one but the first four songs are the best so far for me

Louisiana for me, that shit is unreal

The first 5 songs are incredible, strongest run since the first 5 of House of Sugar (goated).
The longest songs are kinda still mid to me right now (Louisiana, Headlights) which kinda sucks, I'm expecting these to grow on me more so I'm projecting the 4.5.
I like Still You In There's piano vibe that is reminiscent of Clouds and Waiting For You from DSU/Trick but now with vocals.
