yeah strong B side energy. hopefully they have something left in the tank, but David was basically the most important songwriter this band has ever had

New single is good. Sounds like a return to form to me.

I'm convinced that the closer on this one is the best song of their career. Fucking majestic

wish I could get excited for a new Soilwork album, and I'd love to be proven wrong so badly, but I think with David's passing there's not enough left of the bandmembers who can actually create a record's worth of great songs

yeah no david is a massive hole. they're still reeling from dirk leaving tbh the drumming has been so bland ever since he left

Yeah drumming has taken a huge dip. I think Bjorn should be able to write decent songs but David is a great writer. Also wrote amazing tracks for The Night Flight Orchestra

idk, Spirit of No Return was pretty solid and has me thinking they def have it in em to write a great album without the core songwriters they've lost over the years. perhaps not to the same caliber as Living Infinite/Ride Majestic but great nevertheless

they'll be fine, after all Bjorn wrote the majority of both Living Infinite and Ride Majestic

andersson is credited with more on both albums but yeah i think with how many line up changes this band has had they can still make some magic. bjorn has always been the draw for me. the dip (imo!!!) they've taken post TRM felt more like a stylistic change than simply not having the juice - other than the drumming which lacks creativity to me

edit: coudret actually has writing credit for my fave songs off both albums so i still #believe
