idk man search “auntie diaries” on twitter, people seem to mostly be eating it up in a positive way
just feels bad to hear that from a straight guy during what is one of the worst moments for trans ppl in america rn. but also the discourse it’s already opened seems to not be a bad thing. again not sure, have no idea how to feel about it, waiting for my two trans roommates to give me their takes

Only snowflakes offended by Auntie Diaries

Yeah yo-yo also makes a good point. There is a fair share of equal responsibility in putting out content like that as a straight man, even tho it was apparently in good faith. You have to know a lot of people don’t care what context a straight person is using it in that’s common sense.

valid criticism =/= being offended

Tundra had a meltdown about me trolling his Lights soundoff so I don’t think we need to be too concerned with him of all people unironically calling people snowflakes

It's super unfair and bogus that trans people's mere existence is politicized and a straight cis guy saying that word is going to be a challenging experience because historically, that hasn't been a good thing to do.
That being said, Kendrick said "trans rights" with his full chest and in a way that a lot of people can unfortunately relate to at a very pivotal moment for their rights. He made the experience grounded and visceral. Would you have him pretend that that was not his experience growing up and whitewash the way the trans people in his life were talked about and treated? It's about as good faith a presentation of the word as you could get from someone in his position. It's totally fine if people don't like that he used the word, but I think reducing it down to just "K-Dot said the f-slur" is really disingenuous and even harmful because it takes away from the actual narrative he laid out with the potential for growth

Also, I am sorry but Silent Hill absolutely rules. Pew Pew

At the end of the day I truly don’t know enough about Kendrick as a person to speculate too much about his intentions and personality etc, I follow him pretty passively

odal with some supremely based and thought provoking takes here, even if i have a diametrically opposed opinion on the album's quality gotta give props kendrick's intentions def make a lot more sense to me

I guess I just have to give up on the idea of him putting out another classic.

yeah the song itself is not malicious by any means and honestly kinda slaps, but no one is going to talk about the merit of it because of the way it was presented

@reefa
now illegal for doctors to provide things for trans kids under 19 in alabama. i live in alabama

this is a more consolidated list of all of the states, mostly backwoods ass states, with anti-trans laws, a lot of which are new

Yeah I do appreciate the reasonable explanation and perspective as my knee jerk passive listening reaction was pretty much to just lose more respect for Kendrick

@loveisamixtape
I see. That's unfortunate. The only issue I'm still unsure about is the sports issue

I pretty much 100% agree with odal but if your knee jerk response is to say 'Kendrick is being supportive you queers are too sensitive' that is sus af
