"Anticure has to be one of the worst songs ive ever heard"
Rowhaus i agree with most of your 5's and 4.5's, so i'm kinda baffled at your hatred for this band.

I guess I'm lost how everyone assumes someone will like an album based on what they usually like... that's not a guarantee lol

i mean every other week i get recommended an album based on what friends know of my taste and they expect me to love what they suggest, and 9 times out of 10, they're right. i know people who somehow know my taste better than i do at times. probably a case of my taste being bloody obvious.

I really don’t think it’s that far-fetched. I dislike deathcore for the most part and I think Tool is a rubbish band. So you can imagine my joy at tool-worshipping deathcore. It just comes across as so forced and cringeworthy to me, and it’s that mix of styles that reminds me a lot of 5FDP. What baffles me is I appear to be possibly the only one here that utterly hated this.

It's less like Tool, and more like all of the butt rock Tool clones that shat all over the early 2000's. Which i totally vibe with.

i should 1 this and never listen to it agreed

you should listen and feel the deeply personal struggle Phil brought to life here. it's very captivating if you're willing to let it in

I hear more Katatonia/APC/Opeth than Tool in this so

"knowing that he's in Whitechapel?"
this and The Valley both detail his difficult upbringing and struggles stemming from childhood, family descending into chaos and then leaving him behind, etc.

Not once did I think of Tool while listening to this album, and that's after I read reviews about it being a very "tool"ish album. What I took away was fantastic clean vocals, very well thought out, intertrack melodic parts, and when the chugga chugga hits, it hits hard in just the right places.
Rowhaus, your opinion sucks wet farts.
