Sounds like two guitars playing one guitar part through at least 90 percent of the song. I'm surprised to hear they even have two guitarits

“ Kinda reminds me of the latest Vildjarta album, where it's just disconnected and heavy and nothing more.”

I have not heard the album you are comparing this to, but your description is how I felt listening to this a total of 1 time. Didn’t understand the hype.

This is easily the best work I’ve heard from them. It reminds me of I by Meshuggah in places and the video accompanying it is really fantastic.

I don’t really hear the Meshuggah influence but agreed. Love this record

I don't hear the Errorzone influence either. Mf's just grasping for straws at this point.

yeah aside from them both being kinda hardcore kinda metal bands, vein and knocked loose aren’t similar at all to me

Agree. This isn't anything like Meshuggah or Vein imo. I'd like to hear where those thoughts came from honestly lol cuz I don't hear either comparison at all.

“I'd like to hear where those thoughts came from honestly”

It’s more in the mood than the actual presentation, though the clean sections are extremely similar in the way they’re executed and come almost out of nowhere. Plus, they’re both absolutely relentless conceptual pieces.

That is disrespectful to Errorzone

Ah good catch, I had no idea there was such things. Also crazy how I realized it was me who asked this question so long ago lol

I dunno about Errorzone but its that whole genre of "horror metalcore" (e.g. Code Orange, Moralslip, Blood Youth, Orthodox, Wristmeetrazor, 156/Silence, Hazing Over, fallfiftyfeet, etc)-- that ever so slightly Slipknot-adjacent metallic hardcore. There's a lot of garbage in that genre but I think Errorzone and Tear in the Fabric are both pretty solid examples of it done right.

I never made the connection with Laugh Tracks or Shade of Blue though, and I'm not sure why I didn't before. Vocally, I suppose KL leans much more heavily hardcore.
