Never checked Simz out until this one and this has taken me a few listens for me to warm up to it, but holy fuck the first half of this record is incredible. Been a while since a new release got me as hype as this does. Finding myself agreeing with the general consensus that the 2nd half is a step down though, but not bad by any means.

Yeah I love the last few tracks but my only gripe is that I wish the album didn't peter out as much toward the end, something to balance out the sheer bombast of Introvert would've been killer

Last two tracks are highlights for me. She definitely could have pulled off a "Lost in the World" to cap it off as a gilded classic, but I like that she went for a pensive ending. I was hungry for Neo-Soul after "Woman" so more of that nature is pleasing.

If the album were instrumental or had a different vocal artist, it would certainly be better from my POV. But the vocals are just boring to listen to and after a while I found them even annoying.

I think this is pretty much a staple as far as rap goes for the last 5 or so years, so the ratings don't surprise me. As soon as the first 3 tracks are done you know this is some seriously amazing shit
