it's always weird to read about former fans of kanye west who complain about the beats being different, for a while there was this whole ''he should go back to soul based samples'' thing, but people don't seem to just mention that he has nothing to say or talk about and his lyrics are not good, they were never amazing really besides a few exceptions, but he was clever when he was good and i haven't felt that he's been clever in years.
that's a big problem because it adds greatly to the general boredom of listening to modern kanye. he's not saying anything at all. he isn't even really good at being obnoxiously braggadocios like he was back in the day

there's a 7-8 track version of this that would be on the lesser end of KSG tier. as is it's a fucking mess, and kind of impossible to meaningfully engage with on any *larger* level cos it sounds like his label just dropped a whole folder of music on his hard drive and called it an album. in all one of the most embarrassingly stupid rollouts of all time and I wasn't even invested at all

@Eons not every line is on point, but he talks a ton about his mental health and what it is like being bipolar and a mainstream star.

@never understood why people respond with anger to Kanye having an obvious mental health episode of some kind, or being misguided into believing stupid shit
It shows how racist many democrats really are, doesn't it? Especially when they supported someone with such a bad record with racism themselves.

my friend and i were wondering how this album isn't in the trending albums list? is it because the average is too low?

Album Rating: 4.5

man, Moon is hitting the feels. Lots of Frank Ocean influence on this with the lack of beats and vocal focused tunes

> I cast a line among the staffers to see if there would be any takers to do a deeper dive on this.
so now sowing admits he did a shallow take just to rush out a review. you know who made a much better and more in depth review hours BEFORE sowing posted his? me jeffery bigglestein. yet i dont get the respect i deserve or a feature. i am not only the greatest writer on this site but the greatest writer perhaps of all time. biggle boys rise up!!

I can understand stepping up to the plate if someone backed out, but then why rush out the review a day after a two hour album came out lol I physically went to 2/3 of the listening parties and have been bumping the rips and even I still need more time to really hone in on my thoughts

If edited by about 50% there’s a great album in there somewhere. As it is, Im actually enjoying wading through the whole sprawling mess. Jesus Lord 2 is the best song hes released since 2010

This is so unpolished if he took another year to work on the lyrics and flow it would of been a great album. These are easily some of his best beats to date conceptually but the lyrics/flow of Ye and most of the features is abysmal. Also the mix still seems pretty unpolished.

this uh, this uh isn't very good. I don't what you guys are hearing here. Sentimentality is like the sole reason this is listenable and even then...

it's cool how he put someone accused of multiple sexual assaults on here, truly a genius artist of our generation and worthy of our collective time and attention!
