Similar I guess, I'm not familiar with her albums. Sounds like her stuff could be influenced by Coil

Yessssss
Another believer in naked man art-rock

I thought I had a good idea of what to expect after the first track, but the more I listened to it the more I realized it's really unpredictable. Quite the wild ride. One of those albums where I think it'll take a while to unlock the full thing, but after 1 play I'm in love with like 95% of this

Also that album art is terrifying - maybe because it reminds me of that movie under the skin
|
| |
Holy shit yeah haha, haven't thought of that in ages
It could also be the Nothing art from last yr with a much more flattering angle

Ohh nice never seen it but maybe I will now. The artwork is slightly creepy to me because (1) it's a naked dude just standing there and (2) it's blurred out like some ghostly figure. It's weirdly fitting of the music here too - visceral, unpredictable, and occasionally downright terrifying.

@Jotw that was the first thing that came to my mind too, omg. Like a far away full frontal of The Great Dismal.

This is great. Thank you for highlighting it with your review. I would have never discovered it otherwise. I was concerned with the runtime, but I've already listened to it twice and it doesn't feel ~2 hours long.

So glad you enjoyed the album and that I was able to introduce you to it! The sound here is truly a revelation. Amazing, experimental blend of so many different genres.

Somebody forgot to tell the producer that this was a double album release it would seem

Probably another length detractor, and yet there’s plenty albums out there with longer run times that get hyped as well.

Weirdly worded if so
Plus this is an odd album to die on the length hill for
So many overlong albums out there that go nowhere; this is an example of how to make a lengthy album sound shorter through excellent production and diverse songcraft

Excuse my poor wording, it was an attempt at a joke. I'm not trying to be negative.
I don't find the length to be an inherently bad thing as long as it can hold the listener's attention and continue variation without breaking the mood of the album.

2 tracks in.
This is so fucking weird man.

Wait for it. The climax near the end = chef’s kiss.

near the end, jesus, it's almost 2 hours of this, I don't know if I'm gonna make it...
