Unexpectedly good score from Johnny???
Will this be the Punisher of 2021, starting off reasonably high and then slowly trickling down one-tenth point at a time as you constantly rain negativity in the comment section???

"instrumental is one of the best tracks here"
also true

this album will probably destroy me tbh; unlike Punisher (an album of doomed saving graces if there ever was one :[), this equal parts things i like and things i dislike - the strain between them is killing me :[

So I am generally enjoying this, but I have kind of a hard time deciding how I really feel. Maybe it's just the Internet hype, but a lot of this feels rather meme-y (like the references moment); I don't necessarily feel a lot of serious emotion listening to it, even though it seems like some parts are supposed to do that. But I can't tell what they're actually going for a lot of the time.

Open mic hour in amateur dramatic class 🎤
Boney, I don’t think serious emotions are the order of the day, more character sketches - it works ok but yeah, lyrics definitely leave me at arms length - very chin stroke/moderate mirth territory
Kinda kill the album I can’t lie

Singer sounds like the Type O Negative dude at times and at other times like Talking Heads. Very interesting.

I can't get over how shit the album version of sunglasses is compared to the single version. It's maybe the most glaringly neutered remastering of a song I've ever heard in my life. Really brings this album down for me

All they need now is for Steve Lamacq to wank over them for the rest of the year and they've made it, guaranteed Mercury nomination and lower tier slots at Gasto and Leeds
