step up from folklore. 2020 has reinforced to me that Swift is a good songwriter. Hope she steps out of the limelight and just does what ever she wants now, she gave us 2 hours of pretty good content in just one year

Dear
@sputnikmusic
, your review of Taylor Swift’s new album, evermore is extremely misogynist and biased. This is extremely unprofessional from a reputable magazine. Please re consider this review. Thank you

@sputnikmusic
don't even bother to review Taylor's work. You all are tasteless rats.

"...the overlap between Swift listeners and McLaughlin listeners is virtually non-existent because they work on different levels."
The overlap between fans of artists in any genre and artists in a completely different genre is virtually non-existent because most people are casual music fans and enjoy whatever they grow up hearing and tend not to explore music much outside that. Then you get the "music is fashion" people who do explore music more, but limit themselves to whatever music that they think it's cool to like, or whatever "fits" their personality, which is usually anything non-mainstream. Then you get the elitists who look at music as a competition that's won by the best musicians and/or whomever academics fawn over. Finally, you get genuine music fans, who don't give a shit about any of the above and can enjoy any artist/music on its own terms and are able to realize different genres/artists work on different levels and create different standards by which to judge them by.

Sputnik is a magazine? Where I can subscribe?

I think the "music is fashion" perspective would apply to most Taylor fans too though. People like to be part of something, and feel a sense of unity when they're surrounded by people who think and feel the same way as them. Similar to how kids in high school like to wear certain popular brands to fit in. And then when people say negative things about an artist, they take it as an insult to the group they're a part of and the "culture" that they derive from it. Not that all Taylor fans are like that, plenty of people just like her music, but a lot are.

Taylor’s story is so inspiring. Started from the bottom 😤

We will have your cock and balls yet, Scooter McBrian

Are you being facetious? Lmao she did not "start from the bottom".
