Sennou is the source of all joy and other feelings, but don't pass on the early stuff. PINK is in her top 3 for me and the first two albums are ace (though v different from this lyrically)

Lmao at all those English translations apart from Shinigami, hmm ok at that tracklist, yay that she now randomly cares about her European audience, eh at this being a new best of and not a repress of her s/t compilation

1) based on the way the tweet is phrased, i'm guessing that Specific reached out to Seiko to do this comp, not the other way round
2) s/t compilation on vinyl would be a dream but also super expensive. all three discs are like 1 hour long each so the whole comp on vinyl would take up 6 LPs. also this release is probably intended to be like an "intro to Seiko for Westeners", comparable to Tentenko's EU vinyl compilation released by Toothpaste Records.

Album Rating: 3.5
She's releasing a compilation vinyl? Hmm - was never into things like that. It's like buying a best hits CD, except having it in a larger format haha. I have Mahou Ga on vinyl, and I really want Sennou.
"We’ve been praying for it for a bunch of years now, working on it since 2019 and today, we are proud to finally tell the world that WE’RE RELEASING AN OOMORI SEIKO COMPILATION!"
Wait, really? Why? Who prays for a compilation album of hits? That's like saying 'I don't actually like all of her music, so give me a disc with a list of songs I actually do like' - I'm curious what they think her best songs are, though.

Compilation records are great imo cuz they give you some listening variety so you don't always have to listen the same tracks in the same studio album tracklist order for the millionth time (assuming your primary method of consuming music is full albums from front-to-back like me); hearing the same tracks in a different context can breathe some new life into 'em. 7" singles are good too; sometimes I don't feel like / don't have time to listen to a whole album, so just a quick song or two hits the spot (in the world of record enthusiasts, skipping songs on an LP and dropping the needle right on a specific song you wanna hear is not regarded as kosher).
"We’ve been praying for it for a bunch of years now" is maybe just referring to the label themselves praying that this comp would pan out. Clearly it had a long gestation period and perhaps before they started working on it, it was uncertain that it'd ever happen (getting in contact with labels and securing rights and permissions across language barriers can sometimes be like that).
Also it definitely feels like there's some huge gaps in the comp tracklist but it's got a lot of the key "hits" so it makes sense at least. "JUSTadICE" sticks out as a great not-necessarily-obvious pick tho.
