I’ve always thought of Lenker as solo artist first Big Thief second, but suspect that’s rooted in taste I.e. I prefer Lenkers solo work over BT.

lenker being a queer icon is not really up for discussion, could easily see someone drawn to her for that reason skewing towards her solo work (though queerness as a theme/undertone is more prominent on ufof/this/two hands than the stuff she's written since (ed. actually nvm overlooked Fool and Vampire Empire big time on that take lol))

Johnny - as ever, no one is stricter with doofcore than I - it’s a consistent album, few spotty moments, but I’m still of the opinion her/the band’s writing is sharper than it was ten years ago.
If the level drops I’m straight at them - ‘Two Hands’ I thought was a bit of a backwards step/bar band dirge in points and weak for them.

your friends should just be your friends and Bright Future is primarily comprised of love songs and sexuality has pretty much nothing to do with them and I have a really hard time believing anyone would be more into it than they are the last Big Thief album on the basis of anything relating to sexuality and that train of thought is lame
